Frequently Asked Questions About Our Moving Services

When Should You Call A Moving Company?

Once you've made the decision to either move your company or your home, you should call the earlier the better! Our team of moving professionals are fast, and efficient but our schedule does typically stay pretty full. In a perfect world, you should call us, or any moving company for that matter, four to six weeks in advance to make sure we have everything lined up for your move!

Now, of course there are instances where that sort of lead time isn't possible. But no need to worry, simply give our team a call today and we will do our best to comply with your preferred move dates, or provide you with the nearest alternatives! Be sure to discuss your particular pickup and delivery requirements with one of our agents to ensure you have the best experience possible!

How long does it normally take to move?

This is a question that we field on a daily basis, and just like estimating a price varies tremendously, the timeframe for a move is no different. It depends greatly on the weather conditions, the size of your shipment/move, and of course the distance you're being moved! Often times, for an entire residential move, the amount of inventory in your home exceeds the size of your standard 14ft. or 26ft. truck, so two trips is sometimes necessary! With that being said, if we're talking a local move at the Lake, you can expect a timeframe of probably a day or two!

Will my furnishings remain clean?

Yes, of course! What kind of moving company would we be if we didn't take the necessary precautions to ensure your furnishings will arrive safely, securely, and clean! We use a a clear plastic material, before your furniture is wrapped with furniture pads.

Do my kitchen and laundry room appliances need special attention when moving?

When it comes to moving washers, dryers, and other mechanical appliances they require specific, and special servicing to ensure safe transportation on your next move. Parts that move on your appliance like motors, drums, and your ice machine should be properly and securely fastened in when moving. When it comes to your washers, we place pins in them in order to protect the drum. When it comes to moving gas appliances, they need to be serviced, and disconnected prior to our moving company showing up. We place responsibility on our customers to ensure that their appliances are serviced for proper shipment before we load them onto our vehicles.

Can we move your china, glass, and crystal?

We don't have any rules or regulations when it comes to moving your fragile items. We are more than happy to do it, however, if you decide to pack these items by yourself, the best packing procedures include wrapping each item individually and placing an adequate amount of cushion and protection making for a firm pack.

We recommend to our clients to place two or three inches of crushed paper on the back of cartons to ensure even more cushion and support for your valuable china, glass, and crystal! Best practices also include packing the heaviest items on the bottom and the lighter items on top. We understand that not everyone is a professional when it comes to packing. We would be more than happy to provide that service for you, or simply give our team a call today if you have outstanding questions on the proper procedures for safe and secure moving!

Can I move jewelry and other valuable items?

We are more than happy to move your jewelry and other valuable items! But when packing up family valuables, we highly recommend you notify our Lake Of The Ozarks Moving Company agents where the important items are packed.

With all of that being said, we still highly recommend when moving "irreplaceable" items that you bring them with you or make other arrangements for transportation. When it comes to the moving industry, and your moving insurance you should itemize items over $100 per pound. You should complete and sign the High-Value inventory form with your moving insurance provider.

Can we move your pet?

Unfortunately no, we are unable to move and transport your family pet! They are not permitted to be carried on our moving trucks. We highly recommend moving your family pet in your family car. If that isn't possible with your current situation, simply give one of our moving agents a call today and we will happily recommend alternative methods to ship your pet safely!
